COVID-19 Update: Friday, June 18, 2021.
EUROPE IS OPEN TO TRAVEL AGAIN! The European Union (EU) has lifted travel restrictions for United States of America (USA) residents. The new rules are expected to take effect in the coming days, as soon as it is officially released by the EU. Some EU member states already allowed the visit of vaccinated American tourists. However, with the new rule, each country in the European block is free to decide whether or not to ask for proof of vaccination or to impose some type of quarantine on tourists. As of right now Portugal only requires proof of vaccination or a negative PCR test within 72-hours of boarding a flight to and from Portugal. There are no quarantine requirements for US travelers in Portugal.
